QUALITY / MAD VINYL MUSIC

Vinyl quality:
care at every stage.

From audio to finished record, every decision counts.

Making a vinyl record involves preparing the audio, pressing the record and caring for its presentation. At Mad Vinyl Music, we pay close attention to materials, test pressings and product checks throughout the process.

Audio and stampers: where the record begins.

CARING FOR COMPONENTS

Audio prepared for vinyl

We check that the audio is suitable for transfer to vinyl. We recommend supplying a master prepared specifically for this format. If you are unsure, we can analyse it before cutting.

We work with specialist studios with an established reputation in lacquer cutting (lacquers).

Stampers and production runs

Stampers go through a manufacturing and quality control process to ensure they are suitable for use in the press. We do not press more than 1,000 copies with the same pair of stampers.

02 / TEST PRESSINGS

Test pressings: listen before production.

THE RECORD / DETAIL

We offer and recommend test pressings before the production run. They allow you to check the result of the process and hear how your record will sound.

For projects with test pressings, the production run starts after customer approval.

Share your observations

If you hear something you would like us to review, indicate the side, track and time where it occurs. This helps us locate it and discuss it with you before proceeding.

03 / DURING PRODUCTION

RECORDS IN PRODUCTION

Weight checks, visual inspection and listening tests on samples

During pressing, we check the weight of the records. Our quality team visually inspects every record and carries out listening checks on a sample basis to verify the result.

Vinyl manufacturing requires attention to detail. If we detect an anomaly, we review the elements of the process and make the necessary corrections.

Separating records that fail quality control

Units that do not pass quality control are carefully separated. We recycle their plastic where possible.

The team works within our ISO 9001 certified quality management system.

04 / SLEEVING AND SHIPPING

Packaging checks before shipping.

Before the records are sleeved and shipped, our sleeving team checks and approves the packaging components. We give the same care to the record, its inner sleeve and its outer sleeve.

05 / TRACEABILITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Traceability that helps us improve each release.

We keep production records for all releases and retain test pressings for future quality checks. These records help us investigate issues, identify their cause and correct the process.

We incorporate solutions into our continuous improvement system to prevent the same faults from recurring.

06 / CERTIFIED MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
